Yoga

“Yoga is a light, which once lit, will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter the flame.” – B. K. S. Iyengar.

A sound mind residing within a sound body is the secret to a peaceful life. Yoga brings you peace of mind and clarity. Both of which help you after a long day, or, when it comes to our students, before a big test. Keeping this in mind, we organise yoga classes conducted by yoga experts for all our students.

Sports

Research has proven that physical activity improves both the physical and the mental health of grownups and children alike. Which is why we have trained our senior students to help the juniors master games like beach volleyball, discus throw, running, high jumps, long jumps. They have to their credit a number of laurels and accolades, within the zonal, district, state, and national level. And they have come to them through regular practice and a strong drive.

Arts and Crafts

Kids are born curious and creative – two qualities that go wonderfully together! In such a scenario, it’s obvious that they’re naturally inclined towards arts and crafts, so half your work is done there. Most arts and craft projects involve moving the hands and fingers. These movements involve fine motor skills and improve the overall muscle strength and control over movements. When your child colors or does a craft project, his motor skills gradually increase.

However, a little nudge and support in the right direction can be of great help and encouragement to Children. Children at SVM School are given abundant opportunities to express their creativity and enjoy the pleasure of expressing their inner thoughts and feelings towards Arts and Crafts. Children are unique in enjoying and getting motivated in arts & crafts class, which in turn helps to develop positive attitude. They possess skills to make use of things with all sorts of materials.

We conduct weekly two classes exclusively for arts & crafts for the classes Three to Eight. Students win prizes in zonal and district level competitions every year.

“He who works with his hand is a laborer, he who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman, he who works with his hands, his head and his heart is an artist”.

Scouts and Guides

The Scouting movement promotes physical, mental and spiritual development among students. Its aim is to help them develop their survival skills, while preparing them to play a constructive role in society.

Parent-Teacher Meetings

At SVMS, we conduct Parent-Teacher meetings regularly in order to discuss the progress of our students and try to find ways to bring out the best in each of them. Our meetings help us understand the expectations of the parents, which then aids us in drawing an effective plan, which we can integrate into the curriculum.
